Kiva becomes vocal coach at Stage Stars in Prague, ages 6-18, beginning September /09
From September /09, Kiva is the new vocal coach/ choir director for the Stage Stars program in Prague. There are three age groups: 6-9, 9-12, and 12-18. The program runs on Saturdays from 10 am- 1 pm, during which time the three groups alternate between vocal, dancing and acting classes. The teachers collaborate together on productions to be held throughout the school term.
It is being held at the Prague British School. All the teachers are fluent English speakers, and all sessions are taught in English. The dance instructor (Cansu Ergin) is from Turkey and the dance instructor (Nova Dobrev) is from USA.
The founder, James Bridekirk, is originally from Australia. He has lead an impressive career as a dancer and child educator in Australia and the UK. This is the first year for Stage Stars in Prague.
Kiva is very excited to bring her experience to this project. Many of the pieces the children will learn will be originals and customized arrangements. A bonus element is the incorporation of overtone singing, which may be successfully taught to children age ten and up.
